SPECIAL MEETING OF HURON TOWN BOARD OCTOBER 11, 2007
Call to Order
Supervisor Young called the special meeting of the Huron Town Board to order on October 11, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. to work on 2008 Town budget.
Flag Salute
Supervisor Young led the flag salute.
Roll Call
The following Board members were present: Supervisor John Young, Councilmembers
David Smith, David Buisch, Laurie Crane and H. Clay Bishop.
RESOLUTION #116-2007
Aquatic Budget
On motion of Councilmember Buisch, seconded by Councilmember Smith the following resolution was ADOPTED - VOTE - AYES 4 NAYS 1. Councilmember Bishop voted nay.
RESOLVED, that no taxes will be collected from aquatic districts for 2008.
RESOLUTION #117-2007
Town Supervisor Account
On motion of Councilmember Buisch, seconded by Councilmember Bishop the following resolution was ADOPTED - VOTE - AYES 3 NAYS 2. Councilmember Crane and Smith voted nay.
RESOLVED, not to increase the Town Supervisors 1220100A account.
RESOLUTION #118-2007
Supervisor's Clerk
On motion of Councilmember Smith, seconded by Councilmember Buisch the following resolution was ADOPTED - VOTE - AYES 5 NAYS 0.
RESOLVED, to give the Clerk to the Supervisor a 3% raise.
RESOLUTION #119-2007
Assessor's Account
On motion of Councilmember Busich, seconded by Councilmember Smith the following resolution was ADOPTED - VOTE - AYES 5 NAYS 0.
RESOLVED, to give the Assessors a 3% raise.
RESOLUTION #120-2007
Town Clerk Account
On motion of Councilmember Smith, seconded by Councilmember Buisch the following resolution was ADOPTED - VOTE - AYES 3 NAYS 2. Councilmember Crane and Supervisor Young voted nay.
RESOLVED, to give the Town Clerk a 4% raise.
RESOLUTION #121-2007
Custodian for Town Hall
On motion of Councilmember Smith, seconded by Councilmember Buisch the following resolution was ADOPTED - VOTE - AYES 5 NAYS 0.
RESOLVED, to increase the 1620406A account to $7107 and advertise for custodian. A job description will be written and this will be done by contract and to decrease account #1620100 to $0.
Decrease Account 1620403A Building Repairs
Account #1620403A was decreased to $32800. Highway Superintendent will get a cost of doing the Town Hall parking lot. The state will be asked if there are any funds or services that may be provided for engineering. There was discussion to tear down the old Highway barn and put up a pole barn.
Next Budget Workshop
The next budget workshop will be held on October 15, 2007 at 5:30 p.m.
