Call to Order

Special Meeting of the Huron Town Board was called to order by Supervisor Philip Eygnor at the Huron Town Hall on March 19, 2020 at 3:30 pm.

 

Flag Salute

Flag Salute was waived by Supervisor Eygnor.

 

Roll Call

Upon roll call the following members were present: Supervisor Philip Eygnor, Councilmembers’   David Buisch, Bob Cahoon and Richard Reyn. Councilmember Russell Teeple was absent.

 

Others Present

Recording Clerk/Secretary Tammy Vezzose, Building Inspector Roger Gallant and Deputy Clerk Wendy Sipes.

Welcome

Supervisor Eygnor welcomed everyone and thanked them for coming.

 

Correspondence

There was none.

 

Laptop for Supervisor

Supervisor Eygnor expressed the need for a new laptop. Due to the age of the laptop for the Supervisor, Windows 10 updates are not supported.

 

RESOLUTION #42-2020

Permission to Purchase new Computer for the Supervisor

On motion of Councilmember Reyn, seconded by Councilmember Cahoon the following resolution was ADOPTED – AYES 4 NAYS 0.

            RESOLVED, give Supervisor Eygnor permission to order a new computer and Windows 10 at a cost of $1,810.00.

 

RESOLUTION #43-2020

Rescind Resolution #33-2020

On motion of Councilmember Buisch, seconded by Councilmember Reyn the following resolution was ADOPTED – AYES 4 NAYS 0.

            RESOLVED, rescind Resolution #33-2020 which stated:  To take $60,000 from Highway Equipment Reserve and increase DA5130.2 (Machinery Equipment), due to the expiration of the permissive referendum and no response from the public.

 

RESOLUTION #44-2020

Budget Amendment

On motion of Councilmember Reyn, seconded by Councilmember Buisch the following resolution was ADOPTED – AYES 4 NAYS 0.

            RESOLVED, to take $60,000 from Highway Equipment Reserve (DA230) and Appropriate it in DA9950.9 (Transfers to Capital Project).

 

RESOLUTION #45-2020

Transfer for Excavator

On motion of Councilmember Reyn, seconded by Councilmember Cahoon the following resolution was ADOPTED – AYES 4 NAYS 0.

            RESOLVED, to transfer $40,000 from DA5130.2 (Machinery Equipment) to DA9950.9 (Transfers to Capital Project).

 

RESOLUTION #46-2020

Appoint an HR Representative

On motion of Councilmember Reyn, seconded by Councilmember Buisch the following resolution was ADOPTED – AYES 4 NAYS 0.

            RESOLVED, Supervisor Eygnor appointed Councilmember Buisch as the HR Representative.

 

Any Other Business

Councilmember Cahoon: Inquired on the water levels. They are higher than 2017 but pumping heavily. 246.6 this morning.

Supervisor Eygnor reported on the following:

  • Wayne County has asked to cut staff 50%; Highway has stayed at full staff.

  • We will pay bills on April 1st.

  • There will be no meetings for the month of April. Councilmember Buisch will post a notice on the website. Signage is up at the Town Hall.

Councilmember Reyn moved, seconded by Councilmember Cahoon to adjourn at 3:50 pm.
